| Abstract : | Adaptive operating systems allow one to optimize system functionalities with respect to common situations. We present an experiment aimed at optimizing the RPC implementation in Chorus by manual specialization. We show that there exist numerous opportunities for specialization and that they can lead to great improvements. Then, we discuss how this optimization can be reproduced automatically with a specializer for C programs., |
