In this paper we define an integral function I(mu)(alpha; a, b) for non-negative integral values of mu by I(mu)(alpha; a, b) = integral-infinity/0 (ln x)(mu)x(alpha-1)exp(-ax - bx-1)dx, a > 0, b > 0, -infinity < alpha < infinity. It is proved that the function I(mu)(alpha; a, b) satisfies a functional recurrence-relation which is then exploited to evaluate the infinite integral integral-infinity/0 (ln x)x(alpha)[a - alpha/x - b/x2]exp (-ax - bx-1)dx.Some special cases of the result are also discussed., |
