Abstract : Natural convective mass transfer from upward-pointing vertical cones, embedded in saturated porous media, has been studied using the limiting diffusion current technique (LDCT). The measured mass transfer coefficients are correlated by, Sh(l) = 1.4074 (Ra-l*/Da(l))(0.3035), where Sh(l)*, Ra-l*, and Da(l) are modified Sherwood number, modified Rayleigh number, and Darcy number, respectively. The correlation is expected to predict well in the range of Ra-l* from 7.8 x 10(4) to 7.6 x 10(6) and in the range of Da(l) from 1.09 x 10(-6) to 6.05 x 10(-4).,
