A new parallel transmitter structure is proposed for the gaussian minimum shift keying (GMSK) modulation scheme. While preserving the same bit error rate performance as existing transmitter configurations, the proposed structure possesses the attractive feature of being highly spectrally efficient. In comparison with commercially-available GSM systems, it offers an additional out-of-band attenuation of nearly 15 dB.
