| Abstract : | Animal navigation can be simultaneously studied externally, at the level of actions in the world, and internally, at the level of individual neuron firings. In this paper we describe a computational theory of rodent navigation that is constrained by data at both these levels. We report results of computer simulations of a split landmark array task that lead to interesting predictions about the behavior of hippocampal place cells. 1, |
