| Abstract : | The application of the balanced model reduction techniques to complex rotor-bearing systems is investigated. It is demonstrated that the balanced model reduction techniques can be successfully applied to the actual rotor-bearing systems. Numerical examples are solved to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the reduced order model in representing the dynamics of the actual rotor system. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
