This article reviews the development of DOBIS/LIBIS following the issue of version 1.4 in 1985. It also gives some background information on the creation of an independent company called Extended Library Access Solutions (ELiAS), which took over the rights for marketing and the development of DOBIS/LIBIS from IBM in 1992. A detailed description of the current version of DOBIS/LlBIS, 3.0, and the future action plan of ELiAS toward the development of DOBIS/LIBIS and its successor system, AMICUS, are also provided., |
